Westhill offers luxurious accommodation for up to eight people.
The house is of grand proportions and in immaculate condition. Expansive glass windows overlook the garden and bushland, the floors are Mountain Ash and the furnishing a mix of contemporary European and Chinese and Australian antiques. There is fully ducted central heating and three open fireplaces.
Accommodation
- Two master bedrooms (Queen size beds), one with ensuite, both opening out onto an expansive country wrap around veranda.
- Third bedroom is large with a double bed.
- There are two very comfortable trundle beds available.
All beds have Sealy Posturpaedic mattresses, Egyptian cotton sheets, electric blankets and heavenly soft feather down dooners.
- The main bathroom is a design masterpiece. The walls created by artist Michael Ramsden are ceramic murals of an Aboriginal legend evoking images of the Dreamtime and views of the natural rock escarpment. Sink into the deep claw footed bath or drench yourself in the special waterfall shower. Luxury towels, toiletries and bath robes complete the experience.
- A third bathroom consists of shower and W.C.
- Laundry is large and fully equipped with Miele washing machine and dryer. All laundry agents supplied.
Behind the bedroom wing of the house are Glenn Murchett's two large open plan pavilions.
The first pavilion houses the kitchen, casual dining, seating area and the living room.
- The timber kitchen, with glass splashbacks and granite bench tops is not only beautiful but fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, including the coffee machine.
- Casual dining/sitting room. Australian antique table, cosy sofa and open fireplace. T.V. Bose radio and C.D. player (I-Pod compatible).
- Living room. Enormous open fireplace. Italian leather lounges. A wonderful outlook through Glenn Murcutt's signature wall of glass louvers and sensational skylight.
- The second pavilion houses the computer area, the formal dining and sitting rooms.
- Computer area provides internet access and overlooks the dam, orchard and established gardens.
- The formal dining room comfortably seats ten. The dining room table is made of old Oak and the chairs covered in linen.
- The sitting room area features a “warm as toast” box fireplace. Italian leather lounges, large digital flat screen Satellite T.V. (Austair) D.V.D. and a wall of windows.
Both pavilions open into a large fully screened outdoor room. This is the perfect place for an Aussie Barbeque (Weber hooded barbeque), breakfast in the sun, an afternoon nap or alfresco dining under the black starry sky.
There is helicopter access to the property.
Booking Policy:
50% non-refundable deposit on booking and balance on arrival.
Long weekends and school holidays: minimum 3 nights.
Westhill and Wood Duck Cabin may be booked separately or together.
Please note that the dam is unfenced and a risk for non-swimmers.
We are not able to accept pets and we have a non-smoking policy.
